偈中分為五念門，如下長行所釋。第一行四句相含有三念門：上三句是禮拜讚歎門、下一句是作願門。第二行論主自述我依佛經造論，與佛教相應，所服有宗。何故云此？為成優婆提舍名故。亦是成上三門起下二門，所以次之說。從第三行盡二十四行是觀察門。末後一行是迴向門。分偈章門竟。

The verses are divided into the five gates of mindfulness, as explained in the prose below. The first quatrain mutually encompasses three gates of mindfulness: the first three lines are the gate of worship and praise, and the last line is the gate of making aspiration. In the second quatrain, the author of the treatise states of himself that he relies on the Buddha's sūtras to compose the treatise, in accordance with the Buddha's teaching, having an authoritative source for what he embraces. Why say this? In order to fulfill the designation of upadeśa. It also fulfills the preceding three gates and gives rise to the subsequent two gates; hence it is stated next. From the third quatrain through the twenty-fourth quatrain is the gate of contemplation. The very last quatrain is the gate of dedication of merit. The division of the sections and gates of the verses is concluded.
