藥取療病，不分善惡。以飲食為藥，除饑渴之病亦然。不應於好食增心貪著、於惡食減心厭棄，意在除饑渴，不取珍美也。

Medicine is taken to cure illness, without discriminating good and bad. Taking food and drink as medicine to remove the illness of hunger and thirst is also like this. One should not, toward fine food, increase the mind's greedy attachment, nor, toward foul food, decrease the mind into disgust and rejection; the intent is to remove hunger and thirst, not to take fine delicacies.
