三解文義（七）：初序分至七離種（云云）無我分，依吾祖馬鳴論文大科有七：初序分、二修習世間功德分、三成就出世間大人功德分、四顯示畢竟甚深功德分、五顯示入證決定分、六分別未入上上證為斷疑分、七離種種自性清淨無我分。然諸經文多明三分：初序分、二正宗、三流通。而序分有證信、發起之殊，今經但有發起正宗而無證信、流通。例如《般若心經》義歸一揆。抑又今所述注，翻梵從華，發辭申義則多錄孤山疏文。若夫譯摩訶衍，此云大乘，則遵《起信論》旨。其或辯注懸科、引文託證，則略為改易。至于判教被機，復引祖訓為其正教量耳。

Third, explaining the meaning of the text (seven parts): from the first, the division on the preface, to the seventh, the division on leaving various [kinds of] anātman (etc.). Relying on the treatise of our patriarch Aśvaghoṣa, there are seven major rubrics: first, the division on the preface; second, the division on cultivating worldly virtues; third, the division on accomplishing the transworldly virtues of great beings; fourth, the division on displaying ultimate and profound virtues; fifth, the division on displaying the definitive nature of entering realisation; sixth, the division on distinguishing those who have not entered the supreme realisation in order to sever doubt; seventh, the division on leaving various kinds of naturally pure anātman. Most sūtra texts generally clarify three divisions: first, the division on the preface; second, the main teaching; third, the dissemination. The preface has the distinction between establishing faith and initiating the teaching; this present sūtra only has the initiation and the main teaching, but lacks the establishment of faith and dissemination. This is of the same principle as the Heart Sūtra. Furthermore, the present commentary translates Sanskrit into Chinese, and in stating phrases and explaining meanings, it mostly records the commentary of Gushan. As for translating mahāyāna as "great vehicle", it complies with the purport of the Qixin lun. Where it analyzes notes, sets rubrics, and cites texts for proof, slight revisions have been made. As for judging teachings and responding to capacities, it additionally cites ancestral admonitions as its authoritative valid testimony.
