〔補註〕三忍有二：一苦行忍、二生忍、三第一義忍，今且據二忍也。又一耐怨害忍、二安受忍、三觀察忍，今且據初忍也。有力大人者，凡夫以勝人為力，菩薩以讓人為力。血氣之力為小人，道德之力為大人也。

[Supplementary Note] There are two sets of three forbearances: first, forbearance of ascetic practices; second, forbearance of sentient beings; third, forbearance of the supreme truth—here it refers provisionally to the second forbearance. Alternatively: first, forbearance enduring harm from enemies; second, forbearance peacefully accepting [suffering]; third, forbearance examining dharmas—here it refers provisionally to the first forbearance. Regarding "a great person of power": ordinary beings take conquering others as power, while bodhisattvas take yielding to others as power. The power of physical vigor belongs to the petty person, while the power of Dao and virtue belongs to the great person.
