恕者，《聲類》曰「以心度物也」。既受著五欲，復無白淨對治之法，容可起瞋。出家反是，不應瞋也。
Regarding "pardoned" (shu), the Shenglei says: "Measuring things with one's own heart." Since they are attached to enjoying the five desires and moreover lack the pure counteracting methods, it may be tolerated that anger arises. Renunciants are the opposite and should not become angry.
