〔補註〕有欲之人，欲順則憍恣故起瞋、欲違則忿恨故起瞋。今無欲之人而起瞋恚，故不可也。況有法對治乎！

[Supplementary Note] For a person with desires, when desires are met, arrogance and indulgence cause anger to arise; when desires are thwarted, indignation and resentment cause anger to arise. Now, for a person without desires to give rise to anger is therefore inadmissible—all the more so since they have methods to counteract it!
