〔補註〕直，但也。但只少欲無別功德，然已有心安之益矣。心安有二：一者少欲則心不貪求故安、二者少欲則心無憂怖故安。

[Supplementary note:] “Mere” (直) means “only” (但). Even if there were only few desires and no other virtues, there would already be the benefit of mental peace. Mental peace has two aspects: first, with few desires the mind does not greedily seek, hence it is at peace; second, with few desires the mind has no worry or fear, hence it is at peace.
