六禪定功德（三）：初明定、二勸修、三示益。初明定（二）：初攝念能生、二定成有用。初攝念能生。

Sixth, the virtue of meditative absorption (in three parts): first, clarifying absorption; second, exhorting cultivation; third, showing the benefits. First, clarifying absorption (in two parts): first, gathering mindfulness can produce it; second, absorption once accomplished has function. First, gathering mindfulness can produce it.
