〔補註〕略說法要者，垂滅無復再會、中夜為時不多，是以略而言之，唯取其要，聞者宜盡心焉。

[Supplementary note:] As for "briefly explained the essentials of the Dharma," as his passing was impending there would be no further gathering, and in the middle of the night time was short; therefore he spoke of it briefly, taking only its essentials. Those who hear it ought to devote their whole minds to it.
