Another explanation says: This is an incorrect doctrine, because it is stated separately. Although it is said that the single color of the sky is the matter of the element of space, it has a distinct entity; the *Nyāyānusāra* does not refute it, and the previous explanation is superior. If one relies on the *Dharmaskandha*, fascicle 10, beyond the twenty kinds of visible form it further speaks of the single color of the sky, mixed crimson, purple, cyan, green, black, brown, and whatever else is seen by the eye faculty. Explanation: The single color of the sky is explained in detail as above. Crimson is subsumed under red. Purple and cyan are included under blue; or cyan is blue and white. Green is yellow, or blue and yellow. Black is blue. Brown is indeterminate; according to how it corresponds, it is subsumed under blue, yellow, and so forth. These various colors, according to how they correspond, are mixed with other colors to establish distinct names; based on the primary, primary colors, all are subsumed under blue, etc.
