「約處自相至斯有何失」者，通。處，謂色處等。事，謂色處等中別事。約處自相，許五識取自相境，不能取他處境，名取自相。非緣別事，名取自相。

Regarding "In terms of the individual characteristics of the sensory bases […] what fault is there in this?": The resolution. "Sensory bases" refers to the visible sensory base and so forth. "Entities" refers to the distinct entities within the visible sensory base and so forth. In terms of the individual characteristics of the sensory bases, it is accepted that the five consciousnesses grasp objects of individual characteristics—they cannot grasp the objects of other sensory bases, which is called grasping individual characteristics; it is not that cognizing distinct entities is called grasping individual characteristics.
