「有釋表色至影亦隨動」者，釋無表妨。有二釋，此即初解。約隨表色釋，是《雜心》論主義。影依樹起，樹動影動。無表依表生，表色無表色。

"Some explain that manifest matter […] the shadow also moves along with it": This resolves the difficulty regarding unmanifest matter. There are two explanations; this is the first. It explains it in terms of following manifest matter (vijñapti-rūpa); this is the opinion of the master of the Miśrakābhidharmahṛdaya. A shadow arises depending on a tree; when the tree moves, the shadow moves. Unmanifest matter arises depending on manifest matter; manifest matter is matter, and so unmanifest matter is matter.
