「若謂此經至蘊定假有」者，上來毘婆沙師被他難殺，今復釋經，論主牒破。若謂過去等一一名蘊，此執非理。經言略聚，何得一，一皆名為蘊？故知如聚，蘊假義成。

"If it is claimed that this sūtra ... the skandhas are definitely provisional": above, the master of the Vibhāṣā was utterly defeated by the objection, and now he interprets the sūtra anew, which the author of the treatise takes up and refutes. If it is claimed that each individual past [dharma] and so on is called a skandha, this attachment is unreasonable. Since the sūtra speaks of a combined accumulation, how could each single one be called a skandha? Therefore, we know that just like an accumulation, the provisional nature of the skandhas is established.
