Regarding "The determined refers to the noble one ... hence called correctly determined": this separately explains "determined". "The determined" refers to the noble one. "Noble one" means that the uncontaminated path has already arisen in them, and they are able to keep far away from all bad and unwholesome phenomena; hence they are called "noble". It means that if a person cuts off the defilements of views and so forth, they then obtain the possession of definitive and non-retrogressive disjunction; thus they are determined to exhaust afflictions and determined to attain nirvāṇa. Because they are determined within the correct nature, they are called "correctly determined". The contaminated paths also realize disjunction, but are not able to definitively exhaust afflictions, and are therefore not called correctly determined.
