「有餘部說至下見上天」者，敘大眾部說。彼下地天隨樂，亦能見上地色，如生此欲界下天見上天。《正理》破云「諸地相望因果別故，要離下地染方得上生，故下地眼根不見上色，是卑下業所感果故。」

"Other schools say... lower devas see higher devas": this introduces the view of the Mahāsāṃghika school. According to them, lower-stage devas, as they wish, can also see the visible forms of higher stages, just as lower devas born in this desire realm see higher devas. The *Nyāyānusāra* refutes this, saying: "Because the various stages have distinct causes and effects with respect to one another, one must be separated from the defilements of a lower stage before being able to be born above; therefore, the eye sense-organ of a lower stage does not see higher forms, as it is a fruit brought about by base karma."
