「身語二業自性云何」者，此下第二明五業。就中，一總明表、無表；二別明身、語表；三別證有無表。此下第一總明表、無表。意業是思，如前已辨。身、語自性，未說今問。

"What is the intrinsic nature of the two karmas of body and speech?" From here down is the second: explaining the five karmas. Within this: first, explaining manifestation (vijñapti) and non-manifestation (avijñapti) in general; second, explaining bodily and vocal manifestation in particular; third, separately demonstrating the existence of non-manifestation. From here down is the first: explaining manifestation and non-manifestation in general. Mental karma is volition, as has already been distinguished above. The intrinsic nature of body and speech has not yet been stated, so it is now questioned.
