On "Has it not already been explained ... the principle should likewise be so": The Sautrāntika refutes again: Has this point not already been explained above? It is precisely the differentiation in the configuration of multiple items of visible color that is nominally designated as 'long' and the like, or the difference between pots and basins. Drawing an analogy to illustrate: Just as a multitude of ants and the like have the same black appearance without difference, yet sometimes their configurations differ as a long line or a circular wheel; apart from the appearance of the ants and the like, there is no separate line or wheel. For shape being based on visible color and the like, the principle should likewise be so: apart from visible color and the like, there is no separate shape. 'Visible color and the like' includes touch by 'and the like'.
