13.74

「經部亦說至無色相故」者，敘經部解。經部亦說：此無表業非實有性，由先誓限不作諸惡，不作之言表離於作，非別有體。又彼無表性，亦依過去大種施設。然其過去所依大種已滅體無，能依無表豈現實有？又諸無表無有變礙，色自相故，云何可言是色實有？但於思種假立無表，即無妨矣。

"The Sautrāntika also says [...] because it lacks the characteristic of physical form": this relates the Sautrāntika explanation. The Sautrāntika also says: this uninformative karma does not have a real existence. Owing to a previous resolve not to commit evil acts, the words "not committing" inform the abstention from action; there is no separate entity. Furthermore, that uninformative nature is also posited on the basis of past great elements (mahābhūta). However, the past great elements that served as the support have already perished and have no entity; how could the dependent uninformative presently exist as a real entity? Moreover, all uninformative [matter] lacks obstruction and change, which are the specific characteristics of form; how then can it be said to be real form? It is without fault simply to nominally establish the uninformative upon the seeds of intention.
