13.87

「此依先時至無相違過」者，通經。說正語、業、命先時已得，此依先時已得世間離染道說，非據無漏道。由先得彼有漏道已不起三邪故，後無漏觀但說得五，非於無漏定無此正語等三。故與彼經無相違過。

"This is based on previous [...] there is no fault of contradiction": resolving the sūtra. Saying that right speech, action, and livelihood were attained previously is spoken in reliance on having previously attained the worldly path of dispassion, not with reference to the uncontaminated path. Because having previously attained that contaminated path, one no longer produces the three kinds of wrongness, subsequently in the uncontaminated contemplation one is merely said to attain the five; it does not mean that within uncontaminated concentration these three, such as right speech, are absent. Therefore there is no fault of contradiction with that sūtra.
