"Fourth, emerging from the path of seeing... the pure body continues to arise": this explains emerging from the path of seeing. That is, in this path, the afflictions abandoned by seeing are forever severed, and a supreme transformation of the basis is obtained—namely, one obtains the supreme support-body of the path of seeing. Another explanation: having severed the afflictions abandoned by seeing, one obtains the supreme support-body of the fruit of the stream-enterer. When emerging from this path of seeing, the pure body of the stream-enterer arises in unbroken continuity. Although one has not yet been able to sever the afflictions abandoned by cultivation, [this body] absolutely does not serve as a basis for the afflictions abandoned by seeing, and hence is called a "pure body." For those who leap over to the once-returner or non-returner fruits, upon first emerging from the path of seeing, it is explained in the same way as the stream-enterer.
