15.51

「論曰至由四緣捨」者，此下釋初頌。調伏意顯律儀異名，由此能令六根調伏。於八律儀唯除近住，所餘七種於五捨中由四緣捨。

Regarding the passage from the treatise stating "...abandoned through four conditions": below this, the first verse is explained. "Taming" (vinaya) is intended to show an alternate name for restraint, because by this the six sense faculties are tamed. Among the eight restraints, with the sole exception of the upavāsa, the remaining seven kinds are abandoned through four conditions among the five abandonments.
