16.88

「已說不善至共相應故」者，此即第二明善三位。此明善業三位皆三善根所等起故，善法相順，故三法並生。惡多相違，故貪、瞋不並。

"Having explained the unwholesome … because they are mutually concomitant": this is the second part, explaining the three phases of wholesome [action]. This explains that the three phases of wholesome karma are all equally originated by the three wholesome roots; because wholesome phenomena are mutually concordant, the three phenomena arise together. Unwholesome phenomena are mostly mutually contradictory, which is why covetousness and ill-will do not arise together.
