17.78

「五俱轉者至得二支等」者，謂善意識無隨轉色，正見相應現在前時，得二支遠離處中業道，并意業道三，名五俱轉。等，謂等取三支、五支。或善五識等現在前時，得三支遠離處中業道，亦五俱轉。或惡、無記心現在前時，得五支遠離處中業道，亦五俱轉。

"Five co-arising: up to acquiring two factors, etc.": this means that when a wholesome mental consciousness without accompanying form, associated with right view, is present, one acquires the intermediate path of action consisting of the abstention from two factors, which together with the three mental paths of action are called five co-arising. 'Etc.' includes acquiring three factors or five factors. Alternatively, when the wholesome five consciousnesses are present, one acquires the intermediate path of action consisting of the abstention from three factors, which are also five co-arising. Or, when an unwholesome or indeterminate mind is present, one acquires the intermediate path of action consisting of the abstention from five factors, which are likewise five co-arising.
