18.68

「頌曰至具男念堅固」者，上兩句答初問，下兩句答後問。此中言定，謂彼決定生善趣等名之為定，非是得定。菩薩住此，名為住定。

Regarding the passage from "The verse says" up to "possessing the male [gender], and steadfast mindfulness": the first two lines answer the first question, and the latter two lines answer the second question. The word "certainty" here means that being determined to be born in good destinies and the like is called "certainty"; it is not the attainment of meditative absorption (samādhi). A bodhisattva who abides in this is called "abiding in certainty."
