「有執耳根至亦能聞故」者，《婆沙》異說不正義。若依正義，自耳中聲極相近者猶隔一微已上，若通耳根即不能聞。

"Some maintain that the auditory faculty ... can also be heard": this is a divergent, non-standard position in the *Mahāvibhāṣā*. According to the orthodox position, sounds within one's own ear that are extremely close are still separated by at least one paramāṇu; if they were to penetrate the auditory faculty itself, they could not be heard.
