Regarding the passage from "The three—nose, tongue, and body..." up to "is called lower": This explains the sixth and seventh lines. The three—nose, tongue, and body—are all generally of their own stage, because they are identical for the most part; because the two consciousnesses of odor and taste belong only to the desire realm; and because the nose and tongue only apprehend their objective fields when contiguous. What is specific among them is that the body and the tangible object must be of the same stage, because it apprehends contiguous objective fields. From "Consciousness in relation to..." onward, it can be understood.
