「彼說不離至無相違過」者，論主通經。以實眼根別類造色，肉團即是扶根四境，其性各別。世間不了實眼根體，於肉團上立以眼名。此眼肉團，總說一切不離眼根大種所造，故彼經說不離眼根肉團聚中有彼所依堅等體性，非言實眼即是堅等。

On the passage "That [sūtra] speaks of being inseparable [...] without the fault of contradiction": The author of the śāstra harmonizes the sūtra. Because the real eye faculty is a distinct category of derived matter, the physical mass is precisely the four sense fields supporting the sense faculty, and their natures are distinct. Worldly people do not understand the substance of the real eye faculty and apply the name "eye" to the physical mass. In general, all of this physical mass of the eye is derived from the great elements that are inseparable from the eye faculty; therefore, that sūtra says that within the aggregate of the physical mass inseparable from the eye faculty there is the nature of solidity and the rest upon which it relies—it does not say that the real eye is itself solidity and the rest.
