21.65

「謂四種法至承奉等事」者，答。或時尋思諸親里事，或時尋思諸國土事，或復尋思我不死當來作如是事業，或時隨念念往昔過去所更等事，緣親里等，由散亂故而增掉舉，有不稱情而生憂悔。

"It refers to four dharmas ... service, and so forth": this is the answer. Sometimes one conceptualizes affairs of relatives; sometimes one conceptualizes affairs of countries; or again, one conceptualizes, 'I will not die, and in the future I will undertake such-and-such tasks'; or sometimes, reflecting successively, one recalls matters that were experienced in the past, and so on. Taking relatives and so forth as cognitive objects, due to distraction, auddhatya increases; and when things do not suit one's mind, distress and remorse arise.
