「由世性別至方得名遠」者，說一切有部答。由過、未與現在世性別故得遠名，非久曾滅、非久曾當生方得遠名。
"Because of the difference in temporal nature... can they be called distant": The Sarvāstivādins answer. It is because of the difference in nature between the past/future and the present time-periods that they obtain the name 'distant', not because they ceased long ago or will arise long in the future that they can be called distant.
