「說不淨觀至有六謂數等」者，此下第二明息念觀。就中，一明念差別相、二明息差別相。此即第一明念差別相，上三句辨差別，第四句辨相。差別有八，一釋名、二辨體、三依地、四所緣、五依身、六二得、七假實、八內外。

The words 'Having explained the contemplation of impurity ... there are six, namely counting and so forth' begin the second [section] below, explaining the contemplation of mindfulness of breathing. Within this, there are first, explaining the distinct characteristics of mindfulness, and second, explaining the distinct characteristics of breathing. This is the first, explaining the distinct characteristics of mindfulness: the upper three lines distinguish the differences, and the fourth line distinguishes the characteristics. The differences are eight: first, explaining the name; second, distinguishing the essence; third, the stages relied upon; fourth, the object; fifth, the body relied upon; sixth, the two acquisitions; seventh, simulated versus real; eighth, internal versus external.
