「論曰至非真沙門」者，釋初句。沙門此云勤息，以能勤勞息煩惱故。諸異生類雖欲斷惑，有計無想能趣涅槃，此名異趣涅槃。故言異生不能無異趣涅槃，非真沙門，設求涅槃亦非究竟，故言異生不能究竟趣涅槃，非真沙門。餘文可知。

"The treatise says: [...] not true śramaṇas" explains the first line. Śramaṇa is translated here as "diligent resting," because one diligently strives to rest the defilements. Although all kinds of ordinary worldlings wish to sever defilements, some hold that non-conception can lead to nirvāṇa; this is called proceeding toward a divergent nirvāṇa. Therefore it says that ordinary worldlings cannot be without proceeding toward a divergent nirvāṇa and are not true śramaṇas; even if they seek nirvāṇa, it is not ultimate, hence it says that ordinary worldlings cannot ultimately proceed to nirvāṇa and are not true śramaṇas. The rest of the text is understandable.
