「依上界身至不還果義」者，答。依上二界身無見道故，非離見道已離欲者可有超證不還果義，所以不還非依上得。

Regarding "Relying on an embodiment in the upper realms ... meaning of the fruit of non-returning": this is the answer. Because relying on embodiments in the upper two realms there is no path of seeing, it cannot be that apart from the path of seeing one who has already abandoned desire could leap over to realize the fruit of non-returning; this is why non-returning is not attained relying on the upper [realms].
