「且如中般至九十二」者，答。且如中般，約根成三、約地成四、約姓成六、約處成十六、約地離染成三十六，色界具縛乃至已離第四靜慮八品染故。離第九品即是空處具縛，故不說之。若約處、種姓、離染、根建立，總成二千五百九十二。

[The phrase] "Taking, for instance, the intermediate-state non-returner […] ninety-two" is the reply. Taking, for instance, the intermediate-state non-returner: classified according to the faculties, there are three; according to the stages, four; according to family, six; according to abodes, sixteen; and according to freedom from passion across the stages, thirty-six, because [one ranges from] having all bonds in the form realm up to having abandoned eight grades of defilement of the fourth dhyāna. Being free from the ninth grade is simply having all bonds of the sphere of infinite space, so it is not mentioned. If established in terms of abode, lineage, freedom from passion, and faculties, the total amounts to two thousand five hundred and ninety-two.
