Regarding "As the World-Honoured One said [...] is uniquely called fulfilled": from here down is the third major text, explaining the fulfillment of the saikṣa and the aśaikṣa. Question: As the World-Honoured One said, the eternal abandonment of the five lower-binding defilements is the fruit of the non-returner, who can never again be led by the defilements and karma of the desire realm. Although their faculties and fruit are fulfilled with respect to taking birth in the desire realm, because they have not yet attained the meditation of cessation, they are not yet called a fulfilled saikṣa. The question is raised based on the sūtra: By how many causes each are the stages of the saikṣa and the aśaikṣa uniquely called fulfilled, among those equally in the stage of the saikṣa and those equally in the stage of the aśaikṣa?
