[The phrase] "Because cognition is predominant [...] as its intrinsic nature" reveals the essential nature. In the path of vision, because cognition is predominant, it is designated with the name 'cognition'. If taken together with its attendants, it has the four skandhas of the desire realm and the five skandhas of the form realm as its intrinsic nature. Furthermore, the Nyāyānusāra states: "That which is subsumed under the desire realm is produced by reflection (cintāmayī); that which is subsumed under the form realm is produced by cultivation (bhāvanāmayī), not produced by hearing (śrutamayī), because that is subtle and inferior."
