「論曰至為其自性」者，釋第一句。言三明者，一宿住智證明，以第五通為性。二死生智證明，以第二通為性，從因出體，據本為言。三漏盡智證明，以第六通為性。

As for "The treatise states … as its intrinsic nature": This explains the first line. As for the three clear knowledges: First, the clear knowledge of realizing the knowledge of past abodes, taking the fifth supernormal knowledge as its intrinsic nature. Second, the clear knowledge of realizing the knowledge of death and birth, taking the second supernormal knowledge as its intrinsic nature; its substance is identified from the cause, stated based on the fundamental. Third, the clear knowledge of realizing the knowledge of the destruction of the outflows, taking the sixth supernormal knowledge as its intrinsic nature.
