"From a pure absorption ... the remaining produce eleven" explains the third and fourth lines. What is produced from a pure absorption is likewise, yet each additionally produces the defiled of its own stage, because a pure absorption joins with the anāsrava above and connects with the defiled below. Immediately following the pure of the Peak of Existence, six are produced: namely, two of its own stage (pure and defiled), and four of the lower [stages]—the pure and anāsrava of the sphere of nothingness and the sphere of consciousness. Immediately following the first dhyāna, seven are produced: namely, three of its own stage and four of the higher stage. From the sphere of nothingness, eight: namely, three of its own stage, one of the higher stage, and four of the lower stage. From the second dhyāna, nine: namely, three of its own stage, four of the higher stage, and two of the lower stage. From the sphere of consciousness, ten are produced: namely, three of its own stage, three of the higher stage, and four of the lower stage. The rest—the third dhyāna, the fourth dhyāna, and the sphere of boundless space—all produce eleven: namely, three of their own stage, and four each of the higher and lower stages.
