「此應思擇為實為假」者，此下第二正破。就中，一以理破、二以教破。就以理破中，一約假實破、二約依徵破、三約五法藏破、四約所託破、五約所識破。此下第一約假實破。論主勸思此應思擇，汝所執我為實為假。

[On the lemma]: "This should be investigated: is it real or conceptual?"
Below is the second part, the refutation proper. Within it, there are: 1. refuting through reason, and 2. refuting through scriptural teaching.
Within the refutation through reason, there are: 1. refuting with respect to being conceptual or real, 2. refuting by questioning [what it] depends on, 3. refuting with respect to the five categories of knowables (pañca-dharmaskandha), 4. refuting with respect to what is relied upon, and 5. refuting with respect to what cognizes [it].
Below is the first, refuting with respect to being conceptual or real. The author of the treatise urges investigation: "This should be investigated: is the self posited by you real or conceptual?"
