「別有男相至男身所有」者，為外通經。謂大梵王，別有欲界中男身所有相貌，無女身形類，故說為男，非有男根。又《正理》云「離欲猛利似男用故。」

Regarding "There are distinct male characteristics ... possessed by a male body": this resolves the sūtra for the opponent. That is, the Great Brahmā King possesses distinct physical marks characteristic of a male body in the desire realm, and lacks the female form and appearance; hence he is called male, not that he possesses a male faculty. Furthermore, the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Because, being free from desire, his fierce strength resembles a male function."
