3.86

「以憂分別至異熟不爾」者，復以理通。以憂分別差別所生，若止息時亦分別而息，故言止息亦然。言差別者，眾多不如意事名為差別，憂根緣此差別所生。

On "Because grief is conceptual ... karmic maturation is not like this": Resolution again by principle: Because grief is produced by the discrimination of particulars, and when it ceases it also ceases through discrimination, it says "its cessation is likewise so." As for "particulars": numerous disagreeable matters are called particulars; the faculty of grief is produced by taking these particulars as its object.
