Regarding "The treatise says ... definitely has fruition": this explains the first line. As was debated in the immediately preceding text, the faculty of grief definitely has fruition: first, based on the meaning of "only"; second, based on the meaning of "skipping ahead." The word "definitely" stated in the verse: "only" means having only fruition; "skipping ahead" further possesses two meanings: first, grief is not neutral—because it arises from strong volition, it is wholesome or unwholesome, since neutral phenomena arise from weak volition; second, it is also not uncontaminated, because it belongs only to the realm of distraction. Due to these two meanings, among the twenty-two faculties, the faculty of grief is stated first, out of order, as definitely having fruition.
