30.3

「若唯五取蘊至荷重擔」者，犢子部師又引經難。論主若言唯五取蘊假名我者，何故佛說吾今為汝說諸五取蘊重擔，取後重擔、捨前重擔，現荷重擔者。若無有我，於此經中，世尊不應作如是說荷重擔等。

"If it were merely the five appropriation-aggregates... bearing the heavy burden": the Vātsīputrīya master again cites a sūtra to raise an objection. If the author of the treatise says that the self is merely a nominal designation for the five appropriation-aggregates, why did the Buddha say: "I shall now explain to you the heavy burden of the five appropriation-aggregates, the taking up of the subsequent burden, the laying down of the prior burden, and the one who currently bears the heavy burden"? If there were no self, the World-Honoured One should not have spoken in this sūtra of bearing the heavy burden and so forth.
