30.37

「若定無有至補特伽羅」者，犢子部難引證成。若定無我，為可說誰流轉生死？不應自流轉故。經說有情無明所覆、貪愛所繫，馳流生死。故定有我。

Regarding 'If there is definitely no [self ...] a person': the Vātsīputrīya objects by citing scripture for confirmation. If there is definitely no self, who can be said to transmigrate in saṃsāra? For it should not transmigrate on its own. The sūtra states that sentient beings, shrouded by ignorance and fettered by craving, course and transmigrate in saṃsāra. Therefore, there is definitely a self.
