「雖不異念但由作者」者，犢子部答。取彼境時雖不異念，但由我經者念方能取境。
Regarding 'Although not distinct from mindfulness, it is solely due to an agent': the Vātsīputrīya replies. Although when apprehending that object it is not distinct from mindfulness, it is only through the agent, the self, that mindfulness is able to apprehend the object.
