「若爾重說唐捐其功」者，論主難第二師。汝今所立大意，同前無兩差別。而復重說，豈不唐捐？又解：論主難前兩師，皆與本論不獲聖法說無差別，二師重說唐捐其功。

"If so, restating it would be in vain": the author of the treatise objects to the second master. The main purport of what you now establish is identical to the former without any difference. Restating it again, how could it not be in vain? Another explanation: The author of the treatise objects to both previous masters that their explanations do not differ from the root treatise's statement of 'non-acquisition of noble dharmas', so the two masters' restatements are in vain.
