「非但音聲至方稱語故」者，經部復自解云：我宗亦說，非但一切音聲皆稱為語，要由此聲有所詮表、義可了知，方稱為語。

On "Not only any sound... is called speech": the Sautrāntika further explains for their own part, saying: "Our school also states that not all sounds are called speech; it is only when a sound has denotation and its meaning can be comprehended that it is called speech."
