「論曰至及與擇滅」者，就長行中，一釋頌、二決擇。此下釋頌，引本論釋上句。離繫、擇滅一體二名，除縛所顯名為離繫，由道得邊名為擇滅，故以擇滅釋離繫也。

Regarding 'The treatise says […] and pratisamākhyā-nirodha': within the prose: first, explaining the verse; second, definitive resolution. Below this is the explanation of the verse, citing the root treatise to explain the upper line. Visaṃyoga and pratisamākhyā-nirodha are two names for one entity: that which is revealed by removing bondage is called visaṃyoga; and that which is attained through the path is called pratisamākhyā-nirodha; hence it explains visaṃyoga by pratisamākhyā-nirodha.
