「前心品法至以說等義」者，釋。前心品法，總為後品同類、異類等無間緣，非唯自類。前文通釋，且於受等自體類中前後相望，無少生多、無多生少，以說等義。

"A dharma of a preceding mental composite ... is said to be 'equal'" explains this. A dharma belonging to a preceding mental composite serves as the immediately antecedent condition for both homogeneous and heterogeneous categories of the subsequent composite in general, not only for its own category. The preceding text provided a general explanation: considering merely the self-nature categories of feeling and so forth in their sequence before and after, there is neither fewer producing more nor more producing fewer, which is why it is said to be "equal" (samanantara).
