「比過現法至故非比智」者，就答中總有三師，此即述說一切有部異師解。謂佛世尊，比過、現法，便於未來能現了達，是第四定願智所攝，如願而知，故非比智。

"By inferring from past and present dharmas ... therefore it is not inferential cognition" gives the accounts of three masters in total in the reply; this represents the explanation of an alternative master of the Sarvāstivāda. It claims that the Buddha, the World-Honoured One, by inferring from past and present dharmas, is able to directly comprehend the future; this is subsumed under the knowledge resulting from resolve (praṇidhi-jñāna) belonging to the fourth dhyāna, and knowing according to his resolve, it is not inferential cognition.
