「豈不如是至應不名意」者，難。豈不如是無間滅心亦名為意？無學後心無間識既不生，應不名意。

"Does not the immediately ceased mind ... should not be called 'mind-element' (manas)" is an objection. Does not the mind that has just ceased without interval also receive the name "mind-element" (manas)? Since consciousness does not arise without interval after the final mind of the one beyond training (aśaikṣa), it should not be called "manas."
